Collegiate Funding Solutions, Inc. ("CFS") provides technology and services that enable credit unions to help their members with college planning.
INFORMATION COLLECTED AND HOW IT IS USED
If you are using the online services of CFS (the "Services"), through the CFS website, CFS collects financial information and other information needed to generate a report as a part of the Services. You are not required to enter any identifying information such as your name, email address, phone number, etc. The data gathered is only used to generate the report and will not be sold or marketed.
The CFS service also allows you to request to be contacted by a credit union representative by submitting a request for contact form. This form collects your name, telephone number and email address and generates an email to the credit union. This form is not required for you to use the CFS service and is only provided as an additional level of service. The information you provide in this form is not sold or marketed by CFS. If you do submit a request for contact form, any financial information you may have provided is not included as part of the email.
In addition, CFS will collect any comments you may send to CFS and may also collect information through the use of log files, which are described below.
The computer used to run the CFS website keeps a record of its interactions with the website's users, including information such as their Internet address, which particular pages on the site are visited, when each page was visited and for how long. This information is used to ensure that the website operates as it is intended and may be used to find and fix errors, improve performance or otherwise maintain the website.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
CFS may engage third parties to host its website on their computers, to perform maintenance on CFS's website, and to assist in discovering or diagnosing computer problems. These parties may have access to the information CFS stores on its computer servers as part of their providing these services and may use this information to perform the functions that CFS has engaged them to do.
CFS will disclose information collected through the website upon a court order, presentation of a warrant or as otherwise required by law. In addition, CFS may voluntarily disclose this information to law enforcement personnel if CFS believes such disclosure would help avoid or ameliorate any physical, psychological or emotional injury to any person.
CFS stores information obtained through use of the Services securely and considers it part of the assets of its business. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, CFS has put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information it collects online. However, computer data security technologies evolve constantly in the face of new electronic threats, and there is no guarantee that any particular security measure will be able to keep out all attackers. You should consider any communication that you transmit to CFS (such as data, questions or answers, comments, or suggestions) as non-confidential, and agree that CFS will not be liable or responsible if information that belongs to you is intercepted and used by an unintended recipient.
CFS uses reasonable efforts not to collect, use or disclose personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. The Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and such children may not use the Services.
